Dear Colleague:

The "LOOP CLUB" was established by a group of pediatric endocrinologists, and is aimed at getting together physicians from all over the world, who are interested in the use of insulin pumps and continuous glucose sensors. A special emphasis will be given to "closing the loop" between the two, thus creating the "artificial pancreas".

The First Loop Club meeting was held in September 2003 in Ljubljana and was a great success. The report of the first meeting appears at our website: www.loopclub.org

This year, we held two LOOP CLUB meetings:

  • On September 1, 2005 during ISPAD Annual Meeting in Krakow Poland
  • On September 22, 2005 as a Satellite Symposium to the ESPE/LWPES 7 th Joint Meeting of Paediatric Endocrinology in Lyon , France
